My gems that I found were:
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
Oryx and Crake by
Margaret Atwood
My grand total came to a mere $.75 cents. Of course my wife and Aquagirl did get book as well;) I hope that I can get to these soon. It is always sad to see library book that have no more room on the shelf. I always hope that the books find a great home.
So what are your thoughts of my selections??
I read "Pillars of the Earth" 20 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. IN fact, you will come across a 5-letter word in there (which I won't mention here) that is used only once. I went on to use it many, many times in Scrabble games, much to the frustration of my opponents. Trust me, I think you will know it when you see it. Hint: It begins with a J.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Oryx and Crake is one of my favorites. Atwood is a master. I love scouring thrift stores for bargain books. Good finds.
ReplyDeleteOryx & Crake has been on my TBR pile for some time.
ReplyDeletePillars of the Earth is a magnificent book. I have read it 3 times. Very worthy. I hope you enjoy it too.
