Crazy Weekend

It was quite the weekend this weekend. We figured that it was going to be a crazy one, but that is to be expected anymore especially during the winter. It was the weekend of the Coleman Youth Wrestling Tourney.

Avia and Silas did great. We are so proud of how then. All we asked was for them to fight and wrestle from whistle to whistle. Avia had a goal coming into this season to get a pin and that she did in her 2nd match. Silas won 2(one was a pin) of his 3 matches.
After a long day of wrestling, Silas had a birthday party so we lazed around until it was time to pick him up.

In the evening, they played outside for a good hour or so in the fresh snow that we got Friday Night. It was the first snowfall of the season. Sure is a strange year not having a real snowfall til the 1st week in January.

Then today, the littles had basketball practice this morning. Jenn and I went out for breakfast to a new place for us. Then in the late morning I took down the indoor Christmas decorations.

Ava was happy that there was a softball open gym tonight. So her and Avia did that tonight. It was nice for some of the girls to knock off some of the rust off and start getting back into the game shape.

I appreciate you all for stopping by :)

Got Through Year 1

17992063_10155141589047226_1164895524148535291_n I'm in awe that my son is 1 year old..ALREADY!!!!!  This past year has been a whirl wind. I am just trying to slow time down but it not working. Where is my Deleon?? It is like pushing a boulder up a hill with a mudslide to slow down the days. Sure is hard with the wife watching kids and me working like crazy.

Crazy seeing how much this little man has changed up our lives. He was the BEST surprise we have ever received. Plus with no help...it happened all our own with no assistance.

Always such a happy go lucky kid. Happy that he is more of a go with the flow type of a kid until his middle sis. After a tough day at work that smile sure does make the day wonderful.

For his birthday we laid low and stayed home and had fun. Unfortunately his eldest sister is sick...

If this year goes by this fast going to interesting to see how fast the future years to come goes by.

The Sickness

No this is not a throwback from a Disturbed CD(WOW I am aging myself). Our house contracted flu fever crap that has been going around.

I am pretty sure that the kids got it from the mall when the wife and kids were getting pictures. The pictures turned out great, but the 3 days of this fun I am not sure if it was worth it all that much.

It has cycled through the house unfortunately..:(  The wife and lil man got it the worst of all of us. There was a lot of diarrhea and sweating and sleeping involved It seems like everyone is on the mend and doing MUCH better.

I do not wish this crap on anyone not even my most dislike people in the universe.

Do over

So I am going to try this again...I know that I have been MIA this past year. It sure has been Crazy to say the least.

I just cannot believe how much the family has grow
n. The adventure has been fun and yet busier than I expected. That is the fun of life then...right.

I am going to try to reboot this space. I was not prepared I guess. I did not treat it like a plant. I did not nurture it like you are suppose to. No wonder it did not have a chance.

I am going to try to chronicle the craziness that happens in my life. The direction is yet to be determined. One day it could be family, the next can be the outdoors and the other could be something dorky/nerdy.This is life you just never know what the next day will bring.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Getting Closer

I for one just cannot believe that baby #3 will be here in about a month or so. Boy where does that time go. It has been a crazy week though,

Currently as of last weeks appointment the baby was in the breech position. My wife was to 3 chiropractor appointment to see about getting baby all comfy in order to have baby flip in the position for  good delivery.

My wife sure is anxious, but that is her anyways..lol We have an appoint ment tomorrow and we shall see if baby is the right position.

We are praying that the lil troublemaker doesn't cause much more while he\she is still in the womb.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

12728651_668161623286753_289806242_n I was not sure if I was going to be able to see the newest installment of the Star Wars installment in theaters.I am beyond your typical Star Wars nerd. I can probably resite word for word the Original Trilogy without hesitation. Big fan of the Original Trilogy, but the prequels were okay. I thought that Lucas had a great opportunity but failed to deliver in the story in that trilogy.

Man...oh... man life sure has been crazy.

This weekend was kind of slow I could not believe it either. :)  First, we about going after work on Saturday. But we could not find anybody to watch the minions. Take 2....on Sunday the plan was go to the early show at the theaters . I would go by myself and my wife would watch the kids and walk around the mall. On the way down there my eldest was wondering if she could see it as well. I was good with that considering that I really didn't want to see the movie by myself anyhow.

At first, she was kind of scared but then she got use to the action of the movie. I thought that she did great. I am happy that my eldest liked the movie as much as I did. This was her 1st real unanimated movie.

Overall, I thought that Abrams did a pretty good with the revival of Star Wars. I will be going for #2 in 2017. It is going to be interesting to see where he goes with this story. Yes, some of the story sounds familiar but it was an interesting approach in the future in the Star Wars Universe.

Best Valentines gift my wife could have given me this year. She was even willing to see the movie with me if she had to. She is not a fan really of Star Wars. It is lost on her. It all worked out in the end.

May the Force Be With You.

Different Concentration

Lately, I have been in a rut I guess. It seems that I have been spending too much time on my phone and my head down and staring into a screen in which I am not learning anything. Thus mindless scrolling. This is not what I want to be spending what little free time that I have doing.

I have set some goals for myself in this quest(to look up more).

The to try to start writing more.Maybe 1 story a week. I feel that what I meant to so is to write. What to write we shall see. I am not that sure if I am going to post everything on here yet.

Along with reading at least 1 book a month. I don't think that is too much of a reach. It is realistic especially with the craziness that is the life that my family and I live.

I guess we will see if I can live up to this little quest that I have challenged to myself.

The Kickstart

I am a father of 2 wonderful girls(5 and 1) and have another human(the ultrasound confirmed it) on the way in late April of 2016.

As well as a husband to a very patient wife and is a gift from God and deal with my craziness  10 hours a day :)

I decided to create a space of my own...again.

In this blog, I am going to talk about my eclectic life...could be nerd related or simplifying life or nature. I am a mixed bag.

It is going to be a fun ride so you better hang on :)

Where Did the Time Go?

I cannot believe that it has been 7 weeks since my 2nd daughter has come into this world. So that means that I have 1 MORE week of leave. Now talk about sadness. That has been wonderful seeing every minute of the latest addition to our family growth ever so quickly.

I would give ANYTHING to be able to just stay at home. I know that at this point in our lives that it is not possible. It is unreal how fast 2 month can fly by. I know that I have to get my butt back to the cheese mine and sweat it off in 120+ degree temperatures.

I love my wife and daughters so much that I continue to back so my wife can stay home and raise them the way we want it to be done. I respect my wife for staying home and dealing with Miss lil cranky pants sometimes, because I know that they get one their nerves.

I know that I will cry my first day back to work and see my eldest daughter happy when I come back home at night. This is something that my wife does not get, because her work comes to her(babysitting).

Spring Is Here!!!

I just cannot believe that the season of spring is FINALLY here. After the PROLONGED winter that we(Wisconsin) has this year it was crazy.Damn you Polar Vortex or whatever you are called. It was pretty much from hunting season(October) to until last week of March that we had immense amounts of snow on the ground.

I took a lookie at flower bed today and YES we have rhubarb sproating up. My thoughts wre sweet. I canot wait for the sauces and the bars, etc that we make with the plants of of the good stuff that is sprouting in the backyard right now.

I guess my wife and I better get the seeds started...oh wait I think we better order the seeds as well. his season we are taking it easy with the little one that is about the be welcomed to the world any day now.

Lil Minion Update

I meant to do this earlier this week, but it has been crazy buzzy.Work I tell you it is always getting in the way.

My wife went in for a second ultrasound last week. Supposedly, she is measuring 4 weeks ahead of schedule.I am not that sure how they can tell for sure when we got pregnant consider my wife has a spotty cycle anyhow.

The doc told her that the baby might reach over 10 lbs if we do go full-term. We shall see I guess. Then the doc told my wife to consider a cesarean surgery. I am praying that does not happen:

1. We would like to have this lil minion exposed to as few drugs as possible.
2. We live in a 2 story house. It would rough for my wife to get upstairs  to sleep in our bed.

This worried me a bit so I will be going to the next appointment in a couple of weeks.

So that is all for the update so far.

I have an Announcement

I has been crazy busy over here. In August , my wife and I found out that we will be bringing another geekling into the world. He/she should be done processing at around May-ish.

With all the fertility treatments ,the negative test  results, and the countless prayers that we went through. We were also in the process of the last step of going through IFV after 2 failed IUIs. I know some of you have no clue what some of this is and some may know. If you are struggling, I pray that it works out for you as well.

We are just so happy to see that it finally happened after 2+of trying. We wait to tell everyone until we were 4 month along.

Just a FYI for everyone :)

Kids Will Miss Out

I have been putting in quite a bit of hours this week. So it gives me plenty of time to think during the day. So a thought popped into my head(no not the Cream Puff Marshmallow Man). I was thinking of the different types of media that our generation grew up with.

I remember when I was little riffling through the downstairs and finding some old school vinyl and played it on the record player. As well as listening to books on record as well. Just saying it makes feel old.

Then there are cassettes and CDs the more music can be stored on the CDs than the record. Now we have the the digital age of music. This is something that kids in this generation have and can have millions on songs on one device. I am not saying that I do not do this. :)

It was fun riffling through music and seeing what can be found. Do you any of remember this? Or am I showing my age, in which I admit I am.

Not Sure what is Up...

I am not that sure if it is because I am getting older or what. 5 years ago...I BARELY touched a non-fiction book. Now it seems that I have been gravitating more and more to read non-fiction books. Well at least historical fiction.  This is what is keeping my interest as of late. I read sci-fi/fantasy, but it is usually in the audio format.

So I am unsure if I am coming of Age or what is going on? I was wondering if any of you have gone through the same type of a different book taste(s)?

The Sickyies

Uggh...the whatever bug it is has hit my realm over here. So glad for that wonderful new. I am getting over it(that you for a good immune system) other the hand my wife and sicker than a dog, in which a quite common everytime. She frequently asks me to take a gun and take her out of her misery. My respoinse is then who will take care of Aquagirl :) I am terrible... I to find humor in ever situation. Even if it might get me killed.

At the moment, I am slugging along with The Name of the Wind. I hope that I can get through it this time. I tried last year and life was getting so damn busy. Working 50+ hours a week does not help either.

The Weird Weather and Christmas Shopping

I am not complaining that there is no slow on the ground "currently", it is Wisconsin after all and that can change in 5 minutes. With me submitting my shopping list to Amazon and they can take the needed funds from my credit card. This is the EARLIEST i have ever been accomplished my Christmas shopping. I give myself a pat on the back and you can give me one to if you would like.

I think that I have jinxed the winter weather with me buying a snowblower last fall. Thus far I have used it 1 time. It has been a great $500 investment.I think i better keep my mouth shut or the Good Man upstairs might make me eat my words. It is only the beginning of December and all my area has had for the puffy white stuff was a dusting. It is going with the temps reaching 50s this week.

I think that we Wisconsinites are going to PAY dearly for the mild and spoiling winter we had last year.

Lack of Reading

It looks like I am  not going to reach my goal of 25 books this year..:(( I have disappointed myself. I am not that sure why i was able to get to my goal. I think I know with the hectic life and working 12 hour days at times at the cheese mine. I think I am going to get audible. Has any of you looked into the service or have it?

How do some parents find the time read with kids? I try to read in bed, but I found out cluckers are not a good idea. Due to the fact, when I dose off I get a 5 lb book in the face. lol

Canning Frenzy

I cannot believe that our canning season is almost coming to a close for us. Who knows what else we may stumble across. The taste of freshness of summer/fall will be achieved throughout the cold Wisconsin winter as well.

Here is our tally thus far:
5 pints of jalapeno jelly
40 quarts of tomatos
2 quarts of tomato sauce
22 quarts of apple sauce 4 flavors(plain, blueberry, strawberry, and cinnamon spice) ....

we are also canning some pear butter for some friends

We are getting more tomatoes from some friends. Our shelf in the basement/cellar is getting pretty full. It is better that than the freezer.

Do any of you can, if so what do you process??

Out and About

I have been being mean to my poor little blog. It has been CRAZZZY this past month or so. I have been SLOWLY making my way though Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. I have my brothers' "wedding" going up next week, in which I will be standing up in on Friday. This is summer, it seems like there is alwys something going on every weekend.

Some other news this is my wife's first week watching kids. We are both happy that she is able to do this now. She was miserable at her job, but now she is able to spend more time with Aquagirl..:))

Going to Be Full

I am not that sure what we are getting ourselves in for.We volunteered to watch my cousins' their 3 boys ages(5,3,1) this weekend.Their mommy was Aquagirl's sitter for the first year. I am glad that for our sanity that they are good kid. Well...the middle one can be a monster sometimes, but Aquagirl and him play together just fine.

So by the calculations we have 2 kids per adult. It is going to be an interesting weekend. We have never experience the amount of minions sleeping over night. My wife of course will be worrying, but I think everything should go just fine. It is going to be quite an adventure this weekend.

2004 Lena Girls State Trip

This past weekend was something new for us. We decided to go to HS Girls State Basketball this year. It made it extra special that an area...
