Coming Home Yesterday

As I was coming home yesterday, which is less that 10 miles in length. I receive a text from Mrs. GD:

UR Daughter.
After reading this sure does get me wondering,now what did she(JTW) do now and is she cracky. Sure does get the ticker going.
Nope my wife tells me that:

I was getting the water drawn for a bath, because it is bath night after all. JTW was the living room in her diaper. I come back and JTW ripped off her diaper.Not only that JTW had dirty pants she had her legs all full number 2 on as the carpet. 

The fun that miss at work.I am just happy from Resolve and Spot Shot. If you do not have either of those. They are a great investment from a poppy kids running on the loose.

The Wiggles Are My Friends

I never thought that I would say this but the Wiggles are in fact my new friends. I think that this children's program saved mine a long with Mrs. GD sanity this past car ride. We drove back yesterday from Mrs. GD's dad.

The Wiggles kept little JTW occupied enough throughout most of the car ride. I am not going to lie or anything but she did have her fussy moments. Overall I give the drive back home an A-.

For a 1 year old ride in the backseat for eight hours with limited screaming is quite an accomplishment.
I thought that the visit went great, but we were not able to see all of Mrs. GD's siblings. It was nice that some of her aunts, and uncles came over and had dinner.

JTW was kind of scared of Grandpa P most the weekend. It did not help either that he would scare her either. The last day she was starting the warm up to Grandpa a little bit.

Mrs. GD and I sure do hope that we can see some her family sooner than later.

1st Birthday Party:Success

Mrs. GD and I have been (seriously) planning JTW's for the past month or so. The event took place last Saturday. Mrs. GD does not deal with stress to well. When she is anxious she bites he nail like crazy.I am happy that she still has all her finger intact. 

The amount of food that we put on could have fed a small army. We did have a great turnout for the lil JFW's 1st Birthday Bash.We are still eating some of the food that was at the party...I am not complaining we really had to decide what to have for dinner since. We are a well fed family off of potatoes salad, pulled pork,and  homemade baked beans.We did find something out we are just going put on brats and hot dogs instead of shelling out the extra money for the pulled pork. YA!! Win for us.

I think that it is perfect to have a little one to be born in May. We thought that JTW's closet was full before the birthday party. With all the summer clothes that we received, I believe that she might need a new and improved closet.

Tupperware and Beyond

Last night my wife held a Tupperware Party that she holds every couple years. In my opinion(usually does matter that much), I thought that last night get together turned out pretty good. I think that I saw all the snapping of lids and air tight quality for one night.

My job was not watch the consultant present the new and improved merchandise. It was to keep JDW busy and not getting into everything and that is what yearlings usually do anyway. Every father knows a happy mother is a happy household:) Job completed with a success. We watched some Monster Inc mostly until she was ready to laid down for bed.

That party happened on Wednesday and on Saturday we have JTW's 1st birthday party. I for one cannot believe that it is ALMOST. My wife is nervous, but I know that it will go fine. The parties that we put on usually go pretty good. I help out as much as I can(the mover and vertical presence), but my wife does a great job organizing the parties.
With all these parties going and the binging is hard to stop.

All in all it should be interesting nonetheless, so after this Saturday will not be completely clueless just semi-clueless.

Let the Chasing Begin

It is official JTW is now walking. I for one cannot believe that the time is already upon us. JTW has been taking steps and everything for the couple weeks. It was yesterday that she hit her walking milestone. It made me so proud and scared at the same time.

Proud, because I was able to see another one of her milestones. I gave me a sense of accomplishment that my daughter is developing normally...well as normal as one can be with me being her father.
Scared? Yeah that is correct scared now, we get to chase her down from where JTW is NOT suppose to be into like the dog food container and such.

Regardless of how I feel the first year of dad in training is almost up. It sure has been quite an adventure considering that I had NO clue what i was doing raising a little one 11 month ago. This was a craziest and unforgettable on the job training that I have ever experienced.

It is Officially Spring

It has been a joke of ours(my wife and I) that it is not officially spring until she gets her first sunburn of the year. So guess, what happened on Sunday(Mother's Day) of all days. We were working outside trying to get the garden ready and get some of the lawn decorations out for the 4-5 months that it is actually nice outside.

Speaking of the garden my wife and I are not the biggest fans of weeding . So we are thinking of teaching JTW how to weed. I think that we still a while until she knows the difference between a weed and bean sprout.

I guess that it looks like we will not be planting until Sunday or Monday at the earliest considering that it is suppose to rain here all week. JTW first garden planting will be continued.

OH No She Is Growing

 What are we going to do now? It looks like JTW  is going through another growth spurts...GREAT. The last couple of says she has been eating(drinking) 3-8 oz bottles a day. As well as her cereal and veggies in the morning and afternoon.

I know was ignorant going into this whole parenting thing, but I did not realize how fast they go through clothes. My word. She is almost 9 months old and she is in 18 month clothing for the most part. Her cousin is in still in 18 month bottoms and he is 10 months older than her. I for one sure am glad that we hit the rummage sales full throttle last summer and did some major stocking up for the little peanut.

I sure would like to know if anyone has some stuff that decrease the rate in which she can grown. Hmmm...I was always told that coffee stunts your growth....maybe I could give that a try.
I am used to reading the the spec of a piece of hardware and knowing what  is expected of it. Parenting is a totally different animal. Children vary from child to child that is what makes then unqiue. You just never know when the next milestone is going to happen.

The Phase Continues

With JTW still going through the phase- of screaming on the top of her lungs when she notices that she is alone and not enthralled with a toy. Well I hope that it is just a phase passes real soon.JTW started this right after her two top teeth came in. My wife and I think that  people are crazy that told us," Having a newborn you can not get anything done."

Our thoughts about that is whatever. With JTW out of starter car seat, well that is what I call it at least. You know the one that you snap the carrier in and out of the base. Now we have to take JTW out of the stationary every time seems to be a chore at times.

Anyway where was I..ohh ya the phase. My wife and I don't pick Alia up when she is crying just to cry. When she is dome crying then we reward her by being picked up.

I am sure that every parent went through this phase. So what did you do when you child(ren) were going through this time?

The Queen of Snot

With JTW still getting those upper teeth to poke through her raw bare gums. I did not know the snot factor that came along with teething. It is just crazy the amount of snot that comes out of her nose. I know that every parents goes through this stage.

I did found out something else kind of interesting from my wife(Mrs. GD the researcher. I found out that Alia will be teething for 2 YEARS. Yikes!! Then Mrs. GD just laughs at me after I gained this new found information.

I has been quite an adventure with JTW getting her two upper teeth. It was worse much worse than her getting the bottom teeth. I have heard horror stories, the Stephen King variety of the molars come in. I can WAIT for that time.

It will not be long until JTW starts getting more teeth in his pink gums and before I now it will be filled with sparkling white teeth.

I guess that we have to put up with the crankiness from out little princess in training. Yes she already has her mommy's attitude. 

Teething Fun

With JTW is currently in process of getting some of her eye teeth for the past week. It has not been to much fun as you can imagine. Her bottom teeth were not this bad....bad as in fussiness from her. At least you are able to see then teeth JUST starting to poke through the gums(OUCH). 


I for one am glad that I do not remember the pain that she is going through. It was bad enough getting my wisdom teeth yanked out a couple of years ago. Right now the sleep for  Mrs.GD and I are slim and far between. 


Right now we are just hoping that the teeth poke through soon so JTW that does not have to suffer as much anymore.  I heard in the hood that molars are worse. So I cannot hardly wait for that experience.
