E is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today.E is for Ewok.

If you have seen the Return of the Jedi. Then you know exactly what an Ewok is at least. For those who do not know. 
Ewoks were curious individuals that stood about one meter tall; they were omnivorous and used spears, slings, and knives as weapons; they also used hang gliders, battle wagons, and bordoks as vehicles. Although extremely skilled in forest survival and the construction of primitive technology like gliders and catapults, the Ewoks had yet to progress past stone-level technology when discovered by the Empire. They were quick learners, however, when exposed to advanced technology with simple mechanical processes and concepts.


The Ewoks were in allaince for the Rebellion towards the Empire. So yes they are good guys. The Ewoks are also a  tribal society meaning they have a chief. Think of a Native American tribe with the different men in that society.

C is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. C is for C-3PO.

He is the first letter that I am doing for the for the rebellion side. C-3PO was a different type of a droid. He was probably the last that anyone would guess that would be in the middle of the the rebellion. He with all the different languages out there in the galaxy. It is rumored that  he was fluent in over 6 million forms of communication.

C-3PO was rather  cowardly as shown when he flees in terror when attacked by Imperials on Hoth. C-3PO is rather polite and quirky and also sarcastic at times as well. He was also the most loyal to any master of his without question. It also seemed that he was always so scared. 

Later in life,  C3PO had uploaded information regarding child-rearing into his memory banks and would meet the challenge with an initial enthusiasm but mixed results to help Leia with her children.

Now can you imagine C3PO as your babysitter for you children? 

B is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. B is for Boba Fett.

Who else would I choose for this letter. Boba Fett is most popular person on the Empire that is a fan favorite....well besides the dark lord Darth Vader. What is no to like about Fett. He was one of the best bounty hunters in all the galaxy hands down. Plus, what is more intimidating in a bounty hunter that does not talk, but does his job.

Boba was a clone of the famed Jango Fett. Jango taught Boba much, training him to become as skilled bounty hunter as his father-figure was before him. With all the weapon he has access to he was very skillful with the tutelage.

I do consider myself a big Star Wars fan and I learned something during this article. The way that Boba Fett died. Did you know that he did not die when he was was knocked into the mouth of the Sarlacc by Solo. He escaped due to his iron will and Mandalorian armor, he was able to fight his way out of the beast's belly, killing the Sarlacc.

I decided to participate in the A-Z Blog Post Challenge. So I must post a minimum of 26 times this month from A-Z.  The basic idea is that, from today (April 1st) and every day until the end of the month (excluding Sundays) a blog post must be made according to a different letter of the alphabet. So, today is day A, tomorrow is day B and so on. There are other bloggers that are going to blogging randomly, but not this droid. I am going with a theme for the entire challenge.

My theme will be Star Wars.


So I guess I am going to get on with the alphabet already.:) Today's posts will be  is  A for Anakin Skywalker.

Anakin was suppose to be the Chosen One for the Jedi Order. The prophecy of the Chosen One was an ancient Jedi legend that foretold the coming of a being who would restore balance to the Force. The Jedi Order thought that Anakin could  destroy the Sith, which was why the Jedi Council chose to bend the Jedi Code and permit his training.


He also was one to carry grudges and was vengeful, but he commonly held these two traits in check. He also hated being treated unjustly or being wrongly accused. He was fiercely loyal, doing anything to keep those he was close to from harm, at any cost.

With the attitude it did not sit well with the Jedi Order. His belief in them was shattered more and more as Skywalker's closest friend, Palpatine(the Emperor), swayed him from trusting them. Slowly, his bond with everyone except the Emperor.

In the end, I hope that this not spoiling anything for anyone. Anakin become Darth Vader the most powerful Sith the galaxy has ever known.

A to Z Challenge

 

I heard about this challenge last year about this time. So I figured that this year I will give it a whirl and see if I can blog the alphabet in the month of April.  What is this challenge anyway?

 Most of the time if you subtract Sundays from April, you then have 26 days--one day for each letter of the alphabet.  When April 1st lands on a Sunday you begin on that day which will be the only Sunday you would post during that month's challenge. 

        Using this premise, you would start beginning April First with a topic themed on something with the letterA, then on April second another topic with the letter B as the theme, and so on until you finish on April thirtieth with the theme based on the letter Z.  It doesn't even have to be a word--it can be a proper noun, the letter used as a symbol, or the letter itself.  The theme of the day is the letter scheduled for that day.

So we will see if I can discipline myself enough to do this for the whole month. So I am in and are you with me to give this challenge a try. Here is the site and hope to see you there.

In The Humor Of It All Reading Event

I am not going to officially call it a challenge, but it is an event. I have been thinking about doing something fun and silly for a challenge or event for quite some time. Andrea really got it stirring for me. If you really want to blame somebody blame her...jk.There are some fantsy/sci-fi authors out there that give these world some life and makes the readier laugh out loud..:) For instance, Sir Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams(recognize the button) and Piers Anthony to name a few. I am sure that there a PLENTY out there that I have yet to discover as well.

When does this wonderful event that place anyway. When else would it be taking place in April. It will go through the entire month.

What counts as humor?
Humor you think that it would make you laugh and think it would give you joy go right ahead and give the book a whirl. I am not going to be picky with this event. You can real 1 book or 20 books under the criteria listed above. I just want people to be able to enjoy the whole month of April. I like to see smiles on peoples faces.All in all I want people to have fun.

Historical Fiction Challenge 2012

The Historical Fiction Challenge is hosted by Historical Tapestry. The rules are as follows:

• everyone can participate, even those who don’t have a blog (you can add your book title and thoughts in the comment section if you wish)

• add the link(s) of your review(s) including your name and book title to the Mister Linky we’ll be adding to our monthly post (please, do not add your blog link, but the correct address that will guide us directly to your review)

• any kind of historical fiction is accepted (HF fantasy, HF young adult,…)

• During these following 12 months you can choose one of the different reading levels:

1. Severe Bookaholism: 20 books
2. Undoubtedly Obsessed: 15 books

My goal is to aim somewhere along the lines of 5-10 books throughout the year for this challenge. I decided to challenge myself a little bit this year. Who knows what I might learn on the way:)
