K is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. We are to the letter K and it stands for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!"

I am not that sure why, but Obi-Wan was always one of my favorite character in the Star Wars galaxy. He was a legendary Jedi Master who played a significant role in the fate of the galaxy during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. He was the mentor of Anakin, later know as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, training both in the ways of the Force. He had a long and tumultuous career that helped shape the fate of the entire galaxy.

During the duel he and Vader had at the First Death Star. He sacrificed himself for Luke and the Falcon's crew to escape. Kenobi let down his guard and concentrated for a moment, vanishing to the spiritual plane; his body disappearing entirely just as Vader's lightsaber (instead of severing his body) passed through his empty robe. Kenobi became a Force ghost, and was more powerful than ever.

Everyone knows that after becoming a Force Ghost, Kenobi guided and counseled Luke in his Jedi journey.

Do you wish that you had a Force Ghost of somebody to guide and counsel? If yes who, would it be?

J is For..

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. We are to the letter J and that is for Jar Jar Binks.

Jar Jar Binks was the first Gungan to represent his people in the Galactic Senate, first serving as a Junior Representative along with Senator Padmé Amidala, and then, after her death, serving as full Senator himself. He was also Jar Jar was also one of Qui-Gon Jinn's(Kenobi's master) companions during the Invasion of Naboo.

He was clumsier than most of his fellow Gungans, which was the reason why he was banished from Otoh Gunga. He would often explain his dislike, lashing out with his long tongue. With his clumsiness, I am surprised they allowed him to shoot a gun alone be a general. Maybe that is why he was a general for a short time.

During his career as Junior Representative, he acted as Amidala's proxy and proposed giving Supreme Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers in order to deal with the Separatist Crisis.

Seeing the movies, would you take Jar Jar seriously?

AudioFiles: Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich

Title: Smokin' Seventeen
Author: Janet Evanovich
Narrator: Lorelei King
Series:Stephaine Plum Series #17
Format: Audiobook
Genre: Mystery
Year:2011
Acquired:Library
Ranking: Save It

Summary:  Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list.

Short on time to find evidence proving the killer’s identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that it’s time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert Ranger. Stephanie’s mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both and choose a former high school football star who’s just returned to town. Stephanie’s sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir “bake-off.” And Grandma Bella, Morelli’s old-world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts “the eye” on Stephanie.

My Thoughts: My wife and I listened to this book going to visit her family. We did enjoy listening to this one. I have listened to all of the series. The only problem with this book is you know exactly who has been doing the murder about half-way through the book. We did continue to listen to see how they caught him. Plus, you never know what is going to happen to Stephanie next.

I like these books, because you see that you are not the only one that messes up and does something embarrassing. In this book, the people who work for Ranger have a pool going to see how long the car she is driving is blown up.

It is always nice to kick back listening to a book that cracks you up that is not serious throughout the whole thing.

If you read this book, what were your thoughts?

I is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. We are to the letter I and that stands for Imperial I-class Star Destroyer.

The Imperial-class Star Destroyers, along with Imperial stormtroopers, represented the might of the Imperial Military throughout the galaxy during the reign of the Galactic Empire. The Imperator-class was originally used by the Republic Navy toward the end of the Clone Wars, and served alongside the Tector-class in a few task forces during the conflict. It was at the time one of the largest warship classes in the Republic Navy.[19] It later became a mainstay of the Imperial Navy and was also fielded to a lesser degree by the Empire's successor-states.

It was crazy the amount that these ships cost to make. The cost was equivalent of several star systems' annual economic output. WOW!!  Star Destroyers had at least 37,000 officers and crew. Counting the stormtrooper complement (one division or legion, 9,700 men) would total 46,700.

This warshield can equip with the whole 9 yards as well. It had security shields, six heavy turbolasers and two heavy ion cannons, arranged in four dual mounts flanking the ship's tower structure, also other weapons in its arsenal.

What would be your plan in trying to take down this warship?

H is For...

In a memorable scene from The Empire Strikes B...
In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. In my Star Wars theme, H is for Han Solo.

Solo was a pilot and a smuggler before getting a visit from Obi-Wan Kenobi.Solo was also known for his cockiness, dry wit, rudeness, and his fast draw. Solo became caught up with the Rebel Alliance, courtesy of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, whom he helped rescue from the Death Star. Solo helped Skywalker destroy the Death Star when it attacked the Rebel base at Yavin 4, where they had taken Organa. Solo became an unofficial member of the Rebel Alliance, and fell in love with Organa. He helped destroy the Second Death Star at the Battle of Endor.

Solo was not one with the force whatsoever. Solo had the ability to think up inventive and often extremely unorthodox solutions to problems on the fly proved to be a constant source of frustration to all enemies he encountered.

What are your thoughts of Han being a key part of the Rebellion?

G is For....

A face a mother could only love.
In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. In my Star Wars theme, G is for General Grievous. He was was the cyborg Supreme Commander of the Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems for most of the Clone Wars. He displayed no mercy toward his enemies.

Grievous developed a great hatred for Jedi, and the Republic in general. After his shuttle crash, Grievous was left feeling bitter and cheated, having been robbed a proper warrior's death. When he was offered to become a cyborg, he took the offer, as he had come to see flesh as weak. However, despite this viewpoint, he remained secretly humiliated by his resurrection as a cyborg.

. He was known as one of the greatest Jedi hunters and a collector of the lightsabers of fallen Jedi, which he used in battle with his foe. He was taught light saber combat by a Sith.

What would your thoughts be if your death was handled like the Republic handed the Generals death?

F is For...

In the continuation of the A to Z Challenge in my post today. F is for Force.

Most people fans of the series or not have heard of The Force. The Force was a metaphysical, binding, and ubiquitous power that held enormous importance for both the Jedi and Sith monastic orders.

Here is how the light side and the dark sides of the force are distinguished. The first two aspects were concerned with the moral compass of the Force, as manifested by the conduct and emotions of living creatures who were themselves part of the fabric of the Force. The light side of the Force was the facet aligned with compassion, selflessness, self-knowledge and enlightenment, healing, mercy and benevolence, while the dark side of the Force was the element aligned with hatred, fear, covetousness, anger, aggression, jealousy and malevolence.

There are people out there that practice the way of the force. It is called Jediism. If you are interested, here is a link to a wiki page.

May the Force be with you always.

What are your thoughts of The Force and/or Jediism?
